Our story

A friendship that became an outfitter

Osotwa Lemaa Safari began with a friendship between an Italian traveller who never quite left and a Maasai guide whose family has walked and understood these plains for generations.

From Italy we bring hospitality as craft: considered detail, unhurried pace, food and comfort taken seriously. From the Maasai we bring the thing no itinerary can buy — an inherited reading of the land, its seasons, its animals and its people.

We are a young house, and we mean that as a promise. Every journey is made by hand, for one party at a time, with the people whose home this is.

Samwel is the Managing Director of Osotwa Lemaa Safari and a passionate Tanzanian guide. A native Maasai from Ngorongoro, he brings a deep personal connection to the land, its people and its traditions.

A graduate in Tourism, Samwel combines professional knowledge with years of experience as a guide. A confident and engaging communicator, he has a deep understanding of local culture and a natural ability to connect with travellers from different backgrounds.

Susanna is the Operations Manager at Osotwa Lemaa Safari. Italian by origin, she fell in love with Tanzania and its people, and found in the country a place where her passion for travel, people and authentic experiences could come together.
